Innovative Association Practice Group [IAPG] is led by Eugene A. Guilford, Jr., CAE. Gene is an ASAE Certified Association Executive who has successfully led 2, 501(c) (6) state and established 2 of their 501(c) (3) foundations, 1 501(c) (6) national, and 1 501(c) (6) International non-profit organizations for over 30 years.

Throughout his career, Gene has hired and worked with Association Management Companies and understands firsthand how consequential that decision can be. Bringing in outside support to help advance an organization’s mission is not simply a vendor selection; it is a matter of trust, judgment, alignment, and confidence in the people who will stand beside you when the work is complex and the stakes are high.

That is why working with IAPG offers something distinctly different in the nonprofit and association space. You are not merely engaging a consulting resource; you are gaining a strategic partner with practical, executive-level experience in the real-world challenges of leading, managing, strengthening, and growing nonprofit organizations.

As a Certified Association Executive, Gene brings the perspective of someone who has lived the work, made the decisions, managed the pressures, supported boards, served members, dealt with operational demands, and navigated the constant challenges that come with running a mission-driven organization. He understands what association leaders face because he has faced it himself.
